Diebold's Dirty Compound Butter

Compound butter is just another fancy name for flavored butter or herb butter that is often used on top of steaks, fish, or served as a side with different kinds of bread. The sky is the limit when it comes to experimenting with flavorings of compound butter. Ranging from sweet, blue cheese to spiced butter, you can add anything to experiment with the flavor.

But let’s get dirty today! Shall we? It is time to let go of the boring, old flavors and get your hands dirty with this Diebold’s Dirty compound butter which is compound butter with a twist. The best thing though about this compound butter is that along with some traditional seasonings and herbs, it includes Diebold’s Dirty dust which is not your average seasoning.

DD as we like to call it is a healthy, yet flavorful blend of seasonings that is all-natural and free of harmful chemical additives, sugar, and toxic pesticides. It is also gluten-free, GMO-free, and free of synthetic anti-caking agents.

Ingredients

  1. 1 stick of butter, roughly ½ cup, softened
  2. 1 ½ tsp lemon juice
  3. a pinch of salt
  4. 1-2 cloves of crushed garlic
  5. 3 tbsp fresh chopped parsley 
  6. ¼ tsp Diebold’s Dirty dust
  7. 1 ½ tbsp fresh chopped herbs basil, oregano, rosemary, etc.

Method

  1. Take out the butter from the refrigerator to bring it to room temperature.
  2. Once the butter is really soft, combine all of the ingredients including Diebold’s Dirty dust in a bowl and mix it well until it is combined.
  3. Now place the soft, flavored butter on a piece of parchment paper on a smooth, flat surface. Fold up the sides of the paper and press the butter into a log with your hands and pull the ends of the paper.
  4. Then refrigerate the butter for 30 minutes and reform it into a log.
  5. Now place the log in the freezer for about one hour.
  6. Now take out the butter and slice it into 8 rounds to use later.
